I'm not in good shape, will the instructors make me cry like a little
girl?
There is no crying at Band Camp.  Our instructors will take your age,
physical conditioning and experience under consideration when
helping you set conditioning goals.  We want you to be healthy and
happy and expand your skill set.  The circuit training is designed to
help you with the breath control necessary for our style of
Shakespeare.  We're here to help.  Remember... the "No Assholes
Rule" applies to instructors as well as participants.

I live in Broward.  Do I have to drive every day?
Not necessarily.  Let us know if you need a guest housing
arrangement for the weekend.  We will be happy to arrange a spot for
you to stay.

Should I bring my own food?
Yes and No.  We will provide beverages and snacks throughout the
day and dinner each night.  You will need to bring a light breakfast
and supply your own lunch.

I am 15 and not a company member.  Can I attend Band Camp?
No.  Only cast members and professional adult actors may attend the
workshop.  In the future there may be workshops for teens.

Band Camp is a Dumb Name for the Shakespeare Intensive
Training Weekend.
I know.  We think it's funny.   Last year we had Fight School and the
year before we had Boot Camp.  We have a quirky sense of humor

Dance Shoes
(character shoes w/lower heel, jazz oxfords or shoes you can dance in)
Sneakers
Sweats
Yoga Mat or Beach towel
A change of clothes
Water bottle
A small face towel
sunscreen
Notebook, paper, pencils
Your script
Lunch or money for lunch
Snacks if you don't like apples
A great attitude and an open mind.

Do I need to come for the entire Weekend?
Yes.  The idea of the weekend is to put our cast through an intensive boot camp to learn new skills,  polish
old skills,  work on dance technique and prepare for the work ahead.

We want to build a cohesiveness among cast members and build a strong team before the rehearsal
process begins.  We are happy to include qualified guests in the process.

But I'm already trained in some of this stuff:
Sigh.  More training is a good thing.  Embrace knowledge.  Each teacher you encounter will make you a
better actor/singer/dancer/human being.

What are the facilities like?
We will be in Davis Hall on the Plymouth Campus. The campus is shaded with many oak
trees and is a lush tropical setting.  The sanctuary is one of the most beautiful buildings in the
Southeast.

Davis Hall has a small stage, large work area, two grand pianos, bathrooms, a kitchen,
basketball court, BBQ area and in short is the perfect place to hang out for three days of hard
work.

The dance space has a terrazzo floor, so wear shoes that will save your back and knees.  We
won't be doing big jumps or anything that will put an undue strain on your body.
