Although it is an early work, it contains complex, lyrical text and conjures up unforgettable characters like Puck, Bottom and Titania. In concocting this story, Shakespeare did not rely directly upon existing plays, narrative poetry, historical chronicles or any other primary source materials, making it a truly original piece. A Midsummer Night's Dream contains some of mankind's most wonderful expressions of love, dreams, and the stuff of both. Students will enjoy a fully costumed, classical production of this play.
